Yuriko Nakamura is a renowned Japanese New Age pianist and composer. She was born on June 3, 1958, in Yokohama. Influenced by her artist father, she began composing music as a child, drawing inspiration from the sights and sounds of nature. At 13, she won a composition competition in Yokohama. She graduated from the College of Music at Ferris University. Her first album, Wind and Reflections, released in 1987 by CBS Sony, immediately entered the bestseller charts. She composed the music for Shusuke Kaneko's film Summer Vacation 1999 and worked on short films such as Shiki no Oka. She also contributed to the soundtrack for the anime series Kashou no Tsuki (The Moon in the Burning Night). Her discs have been released in France, Venezuela and Hong Kong, and her music is frequently used in Korean television dramas.
